Comfort Quilts
Comfort Quilts is program MQ started about 2 years ago when one of our own was diagnosed with a life threatning illness. Unfortunately there have been many needed since then, but each and every time the members come together and produce a wonderful quilt for the person in need.
Accessing the Yahoo Group:
- Email Tracey F. that you wish to be a member of the Yahoo Group.
- You'll receive an email invitation to join.
- Follow the instructions in the inviation and you'll be there!
The guidlines are as follows and can be adjusted as this program continues.
- Quilts are for guild members only.
- The intended member will be going through treatments or diagnosed with a life threatning illness.
- The quilt will finish at 42x42.
- Blocks used are a simple rail fence2 colored pieces cut @ 2 1/2 x 6 1/21 neutral piece cut @ 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 with your signature or a note of encouragment.sew these together along the long sides witht he neutral in the center.
- Notices of blocks needed will be posted on the Yahoo site or in the newsletter if time permits. If known we will specify the favorite colors of the member that is to be receiving the quilt.
- Time is of the essence in regards to turning these blocks in. A two week turnaround from start to finish is our goal.
- Friendship block credit will be given for these blocks.
