Project chairs Sharon and Donna will want to see your assembled top at the
October meeting. Options for borders will be presented at that time. But you can be planning your own design in the meantime. Have fun! |
||||||||||||||||||
| Instructions are
given for one possible border. Complete your top as you choose, quilt and bind it and bring it back to show all the guild members! |
Borders! Feel
Free to be Creative , but do follow the directions for the 1st border.
Be careful of the orientation of the half square triangles. The bottom border is turned 180 degrees so your stars will be correct in the corners. Add to the body. For your side borders, make the same piece as you just did and add a 2 1/2" (3 1/2") square at each end. Again be aware of the orientation of your HST blocks. Add these to the body. Border #2 - a strip of C#1 cut 2 1/2" (3 1/2") wide. Measure your quilt top carefully to determin the length of the top and bottom strips. Add them, press toward border, measure again to determin length of your side borders and add them. Border #3 - Add a 2" border of your background fabric. Border #4 - ADd a 3 1/2" (6 1/2") strip of either Color #1 or Color #2. Finish the quilt and bring it to a guild meeting. Their first one to appear at a meeting with a completed quilt will get a prize. That means Quilted and with Binding! |
Have another idea? Go for it! We can't wait to see you finished quilt! | ||||||||||||||||||
