UFO Challenge 2012

Complete the contract and bring it back to the next guild meeting signed and you have made the first step towards winning the UFO Challenge. Everyone is a winner if they complete even one of their UFO's, but there will be an added prize for those who finish all that are on their contract. So haul those UFO's out and start making that list!

Our UFO Contract contains many tips for prioritizing, organizing and being successful in completing your UFO's. Be sure to read it over and return it by the FEBRUARY 13th GUILD MEETING. If you can't make it to the meeting, mail a copy of the contract to Suz. L. and you'll be on your way!

Moonlight Quilters 20th Birthday Mini-Block of the Month

Join us in commemorating the 20th Birthday year of our guild! Beginning in June, a new block will be handed out each month, each measuring 6” finished. By the time we wrap up next year, you will have a mini-wall-sized quilt measuring minimally at 18”x24” depending on whatever sashing or borders you choose to add. Pick your own color-way or fabric style and make each block as we go. This is a great way to use up some of your favorite scraps and try out some new block techniques. We hope to give you time finish it up in time for the quilt show so we will have a nice group display to celebrate our 20 years as a guild. If you miss a meeting, the blocks will be also be posted each month on the website.

Block #1: June – “Double Friendship Star” also called ”Party Hats”

Block #2: July--"Birthday Cake" page 1; page 2

Block #3: September-- "Star & Crescent"

Block #4: October--"Moon Over Mountain"

Block #5: November--"Milky Way"

Block #6: November--"Striped Tree"

Block #7: January--'Shooting Star"

Block #8: January--"XX" (Roman Numeral 20)

Please bring your finished block to the next month’s meeting to share on the display board. It’s great to see the block differences based on fabric choice and color.
