Megan passed on many great tips and shared her philosphy on quilting. Here are
a few highlights.
- Relax about doing things perfectly. Balance your enjoyment level with your desire
for perfection.
- Save your scraps from children's clothing and home projects for use
in quilts that help you keep your memories
- Quilting evenly over the quilt is very important
- Don't waste a lot of time studying your quilt top, just start quilting
- Practice stippling on something small, like a table topper
- on using metallic thread, "Save your swear words!"
- White Quilts - use washed top, unwashed back & batting for best results.
- Mark on white with a blue watersoluable pen. Rule: no heat and no soap may touch the quilt top while there is blue on it. Rinse
completely when done. If no blue left, wash w/mild soap in washer.
- Make a sandwich of muslin & batting - try out quilting designs on this. Fill
the space, then slap on another layer of muslin
- Great Tools- curved tip scissors, bank teller quick grip for fingers
during quilting
- Relax about doing things perfectly. Balance your enjoyment level with your desire
for perfection.
